Debounce a button with esp32

Debouncing a button is a common issue for the effective operation of a button. The physical imperfections of the button lead to voltage bounces when the button is pressed, resulting in a voltage signal that bounces just like the following figure:

            Voltage Bouncing

I tackled this issue with Arduino some time ago (pomodoro timer with arduino (ita)), but recently I’ve started experimenting a bit with the ESP32 board and revisited the problem using this framework and programming language C++.

Lately, I discovered Elixir, and I think the functional programming can scary someone, but once you get in, is a good way to learn a different approach to programming, and Elixir is a modern language based on Erlang VM.

I want to share some resources that I found useful for become more comfortable with the language.

Resources

Official Documentation and guide: https://hexdocs.pm/elixir/introduction.html.

I think that this website cover the principal aspect of the language, is simple and minimal for learning fast.

Lately, I’ve discovered Elixir, a functional programming language. Its syntax is very clean, and it’s quite enjoyable to explore a new paradigm. I believe that every programmer should establish a workflow for familiarizing themselves with a new language and i recommend to install Elixir throw asdf, a tool version manager.

Note that this is not official documentation; it’s a simple walkthrough and check the documentation if you have time.

Installation with asdf

Assuming you have installed asdf following the official instruction:

Me and two other students, (Giuseppe Alfieri and Jacopo Saccocci) we have replicated a level of super mario bros 3.
It was made with C++ and Qt frameworks, the source code is on my github. You can download and play at the following link:
download here(for windows, only 64 bits)
